What is Art? ECA Lecture Series

We are excited to announce our first lecture series beginning in April at The Wave Gallery in Eugene. Part of our mission at ECA is to help educate the general public about contemporary art, its meaning and practices, and its importance in culture. In this four part lecture series Wesley Hurd, MFA, Ph.D, presents an overview of the motives and meanings in the modern and contemporary art of the 20th century and how it developed into what it is today. This event is open to the public. The content is intended for everyone – patron and artist alike.

Lecture Schedule:
April 19th: What is Art?
May 17th: The Unfolding Languages of Art
May 31st: From Art to Anti-art
June 7th: Where is Art Headed?

UPDATE: Audio of the lectures will be made available here.
