Join us on Saturday, January 27th from 6-9pm for the opening reception for our first exhibition of 2018 – “Wheatpaste” by Hyperplum. From their group statement:

Wheatpaste is a collaborative show from the artists of Hyperplum, celebrating the versatility of posters—their history of accessibility and pervasiveness, their power to serve as vehicles for communication and branding, and their ability to exist as a purely aesthetic objects. These experimental posters are all devoted to Hyperplum’s fictional alter-ego as a an idol-band, which has informed and inspired our collective chemistry from day one, allowing the individual artists to embrace our unique “sounds” while constantly working to support and foster a group identity.

Hyperplum is an art collective based in Eugene, Oregon with artists coming from Seattle, Chicago, and Portland. We are made up of 9 artists whose work spans a variety of media including projection, sculpture, interactive installation, comics, illustration, and painting. Each artist is working towards their BFA thesis with a unique and specific trajectory. Conceptually, our work deals with subject matter ranging from issues of race and feminism, to critique of digital and artificial space, to reflections on sentimentality and social interaction.
